Years of figure competitions- training hard and dieting combined with a LOT of life STRESS had burned her body OUT. It’s sadly something we are seeing a lot more of and it’s very common with women in the fitness space who have lofty goals for their career and their body. Nothing wrong with that, but it CAN lead to pushing things TOO HARD. Inevitably our bodies will PUSH BACK. And that’s what Alex’s story is all about. “Through fitness I found myself.
I first found my endurance, my will to dig deeper to continuously put one foot in front of the other. When I lost the drive to run, I found my strength. I picked up, pulled and pushed the weight in the gym and the weight off of my shoulders. Through my strength I found my confidence. With confidence came my voice. I found my purpose, what I was meant to say and share.
The fitness industry is full of shit. A better butt in 7 days, 30 days to a 6 pack, 1200 calorie diets, and juice cleanses will not help you achieve any goal. Fitness and food are powerful tools, that should be utilized and enjoyed, instead they are often viewed as punishment. I am on a mission to change that. To empower women to lift and to eat, to find a balanced life, and to see the beauty inside themselves. When you realize the things your body and mind are capable of you are empowered and that translates into all other aspects of your life. You can achieve your goals, through grit, you will succeed.” -Alex Mazzurco
